It calculates the total capacity of two or more capacitors connected in series, this configuration could be necessary to treat high voltage or to obtain not standard capacities.
Insert the values only for the capacitors needed leaving empty the others.
Data input :
Measure unit for cap.
Value . . . C1
C2
C3
C4
C5
Results :
Percentage of alternate voltage resulting on each capacitor.
V1 %
V2 %
V3 %
V4 %
V5 %
Total resulting capacity . . .
Notes.
The voltage percentage resulting on each capacitor is valid when the series works
with an alternate system or with residual ripple.
In case of pure continuous voltage (or without ripple) the voltage on each capacitor
is due to the parasitic resistance of the same and it is surely different from that
on alternate current.
For power supply :
To avoid unbalancement of the voltage on each capacitor in series, can be added a
resistor in parallel to each other with a value as such to reduce the differences
due to the parasitic resistance (different for each capacitor, also if they are of
the same capacity).
This solution is good only when every capacitor in series has the same value,
also the resistors must have the same value.
